Students weld Hudson's sculpture into place on Hudson's new bike path
| Several of our Assabet Metal Fabrication students packed up their shop tools, a welding machine, and a electrical powered generator to secure a wooden sculpture in place on Hudson's new bike path. The town of Hudson, Massachusetts has laid the ground work and established several concrete foundations for developing several wooden sculptures along it's new bicycle path. |

| Mr Hollick, our school's principal made contact this year with town officials to have Assabet's metal fabrication students fabricate and weld base brackets to secure all wooden sculptures along the new bike path. Also included, the metal fab. students are in the process of designing , forging, and welding three metal sculptures to be placed along the bike path in the spring of 2013. |

This is an wonderful opportunity for Assabet students to showcase their creative talents and technical skills in crafting metal sculptures, while promoting cycling as a family activity, as well as a using bike paths as a way of alternative commuting to and from school or work. In the end, these types of public art projects are becoming popular alongside many bike paths in our nation old rail trails.

Mr. Hollick, Assabet Valley Principal,
